Overview

Brix & Mortar is one of Yaletown’s most recognizable restaurants. The story goes back to 1999, when founders David Hannay and Patrick Mercer opened the original Brix inside a 1912 heritage-brick building. The space carried a lot of old-Vancouver character, and over the years it developed a loyal following. Later they launched a cocktail lounge next door called George. In 2015, both spaces were combined and reintroduced as Brix & Mortar, a two-level dining house with a glass-covered courtyard patio, whitewashed brick walls, chandeliers, and a mix of modern Canadian food and cocktails that made it a favorite spot for intimate dinners and weddings.

Raxxos has been working behind the scenes at Brix & Mortar for the past decade, managing the entire IT environment so the team can focus on service instead of troubleshooting. A heritage building brings unique challenges. Cabling hidden behind brick. Strange corners where equipment has to fit. Older wiring mixed with newer upgrades. When a restaurant operates inside a structure like that, the tech needs to be stable and predictable or the whole floor feels it. Over the years we’ve supported their POS systems, kept the back-office machines running smoothly, and maintained both staff and customer wifi so everything feels seamless during service.

One of the biggest advantages we bring is around-the-clock monitoring. Their systems are watched 24/7/365, which means problems often get solved before anyone at the restaurant even knows something happened. There have been plenty of mornings where a server or workstation threw an alert overnight and we handled it remotely before they opened for the day. Most issues never require a site visit at all. We only need to be there physically for installs, equipment changes, or the rare emergency that can’t be fixed remotely.

This setup matters because Brix & Mortar isn’t a simple operation. They balance fine dining, cocktails, private events, and weddings, all inside a heritage building that wasn’t designed with modern tech in mind. They need stable systems that stay out of the way on busy nights and keep everything humming for events. Long-term support gives them consistency. We’ve been there through ownership shifts, new POS rollouts, equipment refreshes, and seasonal changes, keeping everything aligned without disruption.

After ten years, the result is a quiet, reliable infrastructure that lets the staff focus on guests and atmosphere. The POS stays solid through rushes. Wifi works the way it should. The back office stays efficient. And on the rare occasion something needs attention, they know exactly who to call. It’s the kind of partnership that makes hospitality feel effortless, even inside one of the oldest buildings in Yaletown.

Trotman Auto Group (TAG) started in the 1970s as a single dealership in Langley, British Columbia. Today, it’s a leading Canadian auto group with 12+ locations representing multiple OEM brands including Langley Chrysler, Abbotsford Chrysler, Abbotsford Hyundai, and more. Behind this growth is a strategic IT foundation built with Raxxos Technology Inc.

Since 2008, TAG has partnered with Raxxos to deliver scalable IT infrastructure and responsive support—enabling seamless acquisitions, unified operations, and uninterrupted growth. From one mid-sized dealership to a region-wide network of 300+ employees, TAG continues to expand without letting technology hold them back.

Challenge

TAG needed to scale fast—but without compromise. Each new dealership demanded quick integration, zero downtime, and full coverage across all facilities, including outdoor lots. With high expectations for availability, mobility, and industry-specific support, TAG needed a technology partner who could keep pace with their ambition.

Solution

To meet the demands of TAG’s rapid expansion, Raxxos built a scalable IT infrastructure tailored to the automotive retail environment. Every new dealership acquisition was seamlessly integrated into TAG’s network, with full systems operational from day one. Raxxos deployed a unified VoIP system that connected all locations, allowing teams to transfer calls and access resources on the move—crucial for managers and staff working across multiple sites.

Major system upgrades, including overnight server migrations, were executed outside business hours to avoid any impact on daily operations. The team ensured 100% wireless connectivity throughout all dealership spaces, including vehicle lots, enabling uninterrupted sales activity anywhere on the property. As TAG’s workforce grew, Raxxos expanded its support operations, delivering rapid remote and on-site assistance to over 300 users.

Strategically based in Cloverdale, Surrey, Raxxos could respond quickly to any location across the Lower Mainland, reducing downtime and supporting both planned maintenance and urgent issues. Their in-depth knowledge of dealership-specific platforms like PBS Systems allowed for immediate resolution of industry-critical issues. From onboarding new employees for instant productivity to secure offboarding processes, Raxxos delivered a comprehensive, responsive, and automotive-aware IT solution.

Results

With Raxxos managing the technology foundation, Trotman Auto Group grew from a single dealership to a network of more than twelve across British Columbia. Each step of the journey—from acquisition to operation—was powered by IT systems that scaled in lockstep with the business. TAG’s 300+ users operated with unified access and communication, enabling them to function as one cohesive enterprise.

Technology transitions were executed without disruption, keeping operations smooth during even the most complex upgrades. Over seventeen years, the partnership between TAG and Raxxos has remained strong, evolving alongside TAG’s vision and growth. With a dependable IT infrastructure and support model in place, TAG has been free to focus on what matters most—expanding their footprint and delivering exceptional customer experiences across every dealership.

Overview

Wolfe Auto Group’s business roots trace back to 1921, but took its present form in 1989 when Gordon Wolfe and Mike Hacquard started with just one Mazda dealership in Langley and 12 employees. Today, the company has grown into a respected automotive group specializing exclusively in Japanese brands—Mazda, Subaru, and Mitsubishi—with four strategic locations across the Lower Mainland.

Located along the Langley Bypass in Surrey on what has become known as the “Langley Auto Mile,” plus an additional Mazda operation in Chilliwack, Wolfe Auto Group has built a reputation for excellence in the Japanese automotive market. Currently employing 140 people in management, sales and service with annual gross sales exceeding $100 million and around 4,000 new and used vehicle sales annually, they needed a technology partner who understood both their operational complexity and growth ambitions.

Raxxos Technology Inc. has provided comprehensive IT support for Wolfe Auto Group, ensuring their multi-brand, multi-location operations run seamlessly while supporting their position as a leader in Japanese automotive retail.

Challenge

Running a multi-brand automotive group comes with unique challenges. For Wolfe Auto Group, managing three distinct Japanese brands—Mazda, Subaru, and Mitsubishi—means juggling different manufacturer systems, dealer management platforms, and brand-specific requirements across multiple locations.

The geographic spread added complexity too. With dealerships from Surrey’s “Langley Auto Mile” to Chilliwack, they needed reliable communication and connectivity to maintain consistent service standards across all locations.

With their track record of building four new stores in just five years, they also needed technology infrastructure that could grow with them.

Solution

Raxxos implemented unified communication systems connecting all four locations and network infrastructure that handles multiple dealer management systems and manufacturer portals seamlessly.

Our technical support covers 140+ employees across all departments. We understand that automotive downtime during peak hours is costly, so we provide rapid response and maintain expertise in dealership-specific software.

Being located in Cloverdale, Surrey gives us quick access to all their locations for on-site support when needed.

Results

The results speak for themselves. Wolfe Auto Group’s Langley franchise has been the top selling Mazda dealership in B.C. for four consecutive years, and their Subaru operation outsold every other dealer in the province.

Today, 140+ employees across four locations have reliable access to all their systems, supporting over $100 million in annual sales. The technology infrastructure has supported their expansion and industry recognition, including acknowledgment by the New Car Dealers Association in 2017.

Most importantly, the technology simply works—allowing Wolfe Auto Group to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences across their Japanese automotive brands while maintaining their position as a premier dealership group in the Lower Mainland.
